Domains and DNS

The DNS records Sendaloo asks for, and what each one is for.

A domain needs three kinds of record.

  • DKIM (CNAME records): receiving servers check that a message was signed by your domain.
  • The sending subdomain (an MX and an SPF TXT record on send.<domain>): where bounces return and which senders are allowed.
  • DMARC (a TXT record on _dmarc.<domain>): what receivers should do with mail that fails the checks. An existing policy is never replaced.

Sendaloo never deletes a record you already have. If a record is missing the dashboard says which one.
